5 Powerups for STACK Power Users

/

Is it time to take your preconstruction process to the next level? The STACK team is constantly at work to make your workflow smoother and more efficient than ever, so that your team can stay focused on what matters most: creating accurate estimates to win bids, grow your business, and increase profits. If you’ve already mastered the STACK basics, here are 5 more features that will help you level up!

STACK Assist is advanced artificial intelligence designed to become your newest assistant. The power of AI means your team can spend more time focusing on the details of an estimate and less time on low-payoff activities. Combining our award-winning digital takeoff functionality with powerful AI saves you hours. You can:

 – Automate counts for doors, windows, and symbols

 – Automate takeoffs for interior and exterior walls

 – Automate takeoffs for gross areas and room areas

 – Edit, change, or add to the AI takeoffs as needed

By reducing the time spent on tedious tasks, your team is freed up to think strategically, enhance accuracy, and reduce costs. Learn more now.

2. Aerial Image Takeoff

For exterior projects, satellite images are often of poor quality or outdated, not trustworthy enough to build accurate takeoffs. And for roofing in particular, site visits are not only time-consuming, but can be dangerous. Enter STACK’s Aerial Image Takeoff: high-quality aerial images for accurate estimates.

You can seamlessly import high-quality images without ever leaving the STACK platform, and once imported, your team can leverage all of our existing, industry-leading takeoff and estimating features for measuring, adding materials, customizing estimates, and generating proposals for your customers. Additionally, leverage Roof AI, to set roof pitches and complete roof takeoffs automatically. Aerial Image Takeoff provides:

 – Auto-scaled images on import

 – Additional oblique images for multiple angles of viewing

 – The most current images available for accuracy

 – The ability to export images for presentation, with or without takeoffs

With just a few clicks, you can access high-quality scaled aerial images without relying on low-res satellite photos or climbing a building. Learn more now.

3. Explode

STACK’s Explode functionality saves hours getting detailed counts and measurements from one simple area takeoff. Many trades require repetitive measurements to calculate lengths and material counts for things like joists, ceiling grids, and concrete cuts. With Explode, you can visualize these individual measurements and quantify them, breaking grid patterns into individual line segments including measurements and counts for all of the segments.

Count exploded tiles and intersections between exploded tiles for quick, accurate access to much-needed details on plans. This major time-saver also prevents the risk of mistracing or miscalculating line segments and provides consistency of measurements.

Use Explode for:

 – Framing: Measuring and counting joists and rafters including horizontal and pitched

 – Roofing: Measuring and counting roofing seams (TPO/EPDM)

 – Interiors: Measuring and counting ceiling grid, counting intersections, and counting ceiling tiles

 – Flooring: Measuring and counting carpet seams and counting floor tiles

 – Concrete: Measuring and counting saw cuts for control joints

 – Masonry: Measuring and counting control joints

Shave hours off your takeoffs with STACK Explode. Learn more now.

4. Items & Assemblies

Using Items and Assemblies in STACK is a complete game changer for estimators. While an item represents a specific material, it can also be equipment, labor, or subcontracting costs. STACK comes with over 10,000 items pre-built into the system, including the most commonly used materials for most trades. You also have the ability to create your own custom items or import from an existing library.

With assemblies, you can combine items that are frequently used together into a single package to quickly apply them to your takeoffs. Assemblies can have any number of items, and you can adjust for variables like waste, coverage rates, layers, and depth.

When applying items and assemblies to your takeoffs, you can confidently estimate material quantities, labor, and more, as well as providing a built-in bill of materials for your suppliers. Learn more about how to use Items & Assemblies!

5. Custom Libraries

Custom Libraries allow you to create groupings of the items and assemblies you want for specific sets of team members. You might create custom libraries for the following types of use cases:

 – Customer-specific libraries – do you do a lot of work for a single customer who has unique items and assemblies? If so, you can create customer specific libraries.

 – Trade-specific libraries – you can use custom libraries to split items and assemblies by trade and control which users can edit and delete items within them.

 – Regional libraries – There are many variations on this, but the general idea is that different regions have different requirements. These could be based on code compliance, weather, organization management, and more.

 – Increase awareness – All users will be able to better understand Items and Assemblies now that they can view Libraries, including descriptions, notes and formulas.

Libraries offer the ability to drag and drop items and assemblies between folders, provide item number and assembly references for easy tracking and access, and navigation is simple, all resulting in better estimate accuracy and speed to estimate for your team.
