Career Questions
Tell us your job title, how long you’ve been at STACK, and briefly describe a typical day at work for you.
Content Marketing Specialist, 11 months at STACK. My days are filled with everything from blog research and writing to social media planning and media outreach. If you’re looking for a construction technology pun, I’m your gal. I work remotely from upstate New York and am still in awe of how my work/life balance is honored by STACK. Living rural with a toddler, eight chickens, two horses, and a dog is quite a bit to manage. My favorite thing about working remotely is secretly (not-so-secretly) being in pajama bottoms most days in my Zoom tile.
What do you love about your job that would surprise most people?
I love learning as I work! A lot of what I write requires research and educating myself more about an industry that aligns with my home life is pretty sweet! My husband and I own a small general contracting and sawmill business (Steel Pines), so writing about contech, industry trends, and how to help contractors through our platform is a bonus for me.
What is the best piece of career advice you ever received?
Be kind to everyone. Life isn’t about the hierarchy. We are all humans at the end of the day.
Do you have any funny or embarrassing stories related to work (and safe for work?)?
Nothing specific, but I do have google open a lot to translate some of the marketing and construction jargon in meetings lol!
Fun Questions!
We know you’re great – hey, that’s why you work at STACK! Tell us about the great things (in detail) you do outside of work. Hobbies, interests, secret lives…
I love animals, A LOT, but I am a major horse girl. I love every aspect of horsemanship – groundwork, riding, training, learning and communicating through body language and energy, and nuzzles of course. We have an almost three-year-old son who is just as wild as an animal lol. He’s living my little girl dreams of growing up on a farm. I also LOVE pole dancing. Since becoming a mom, it’s taken a backseat. But the workout is insane! Pole dancers are freakin’ acrobats, I bow down. And I’ve been to all seven continents! But that was another life too…
What’s your favorite local spot and why (restaurant, bar, music venue, whatever you want to share about your hood!)?
The Johnson’s Family Farm Store in Northville, NY. Hands down the kindest human beings alive own and run the store (and farm), which has local, organic vegetables, fruit, meats, soups, pastries, cider donuts, sandwiches, cheese, you name it! It has truly transformed our small town and we support them in any way possible. My favorite is their Adirondack Buzz shot – turmeric, lemon juice, cayenne, and ginger.
What song have you completely memorized? Will you sing it for us? What about playing it on an instrument? How about a little dance instead?
Salt-N-Pepa “Shoop” and I absolutely will karaoke the s$!t out of that song.
What makes you truly happy?
My son’s giggles.
If your life was a movie, what songs would be on the soundtrack?
This would be a BIZARRE MOVIE.
DJ Class – Tear da Club Up

Meek Mill – Ima Boss
John Prine – In Spite of Ourselves
Incubus – Aqueous Transmission

If you could choose your own nickname, what would it be?
D-Buttahs
What causes are you passionate about?
My first horse is now at Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, stealing and healing hearts. I’m so excited for him to help build their program, as well as find time to volunteer myself!
What is the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Come out the other side of Postpartum Anxiety. That was the most difficult time of my life, it felt like almost two years of purgatory. I am forever thankful for the support from family, friends, my community, and mental health practitioners. I’m here to pay it forward to anyone who needs to talk – reach out to me on social!
