Life Outside of STACK is our feature series that introduces you to some of the faces behind the brand. Today we are featuring Kayla Greer, BDR II.
Tell us your position, how long you’ve been at STACK, and briefly describe a typical day at work for you.
I am Business Development Rep II (BDR II). I've been at STACK for a year and a few months. A typical day for me includes making calls to clients who signed up for a trial of our software. Taking care of new clients via email, text, chat, Zoom, etc. I do a lot of research myself and am proactively learning new construction terms, materials, and workflows.
What is your team like at STACK?
FAMILY. Honestly, it’s the best team I have ever been a part of. We all come from different walks of life with one goal in mind. It never truly feels like work when I come in each day. Knowing that each of us fully supports one another professionally and personally creates such a fun environment!
What do you love about your job that would surprise most people?
Secretly, it's making the dials/calls each day. 80 -100 calls a day isn't for everyone. That feeling of finally securing a meeting with someone you've been trying to speak with for a while is worth it. Hearing someone's tone of voice change in a positive manner when they learn about what STACK can do feels even better.
What is the best piece of career advice you ever received?
Everyone has something they are dealing with. Coworker, client, management, myself. Knowing this gives you the power to control what's in your control. This advice has allowed me to remain humble in every opportunity that has been given to me.
What’s your process for turning a bad day into a good one?
Going to talk with my managers, taking a walk, and my most favorite - telling a dad joke to someone out on the floor. Best way to lighten up anyone’s mood.
We know you’re great – hey, that’s why you work at STACK! Tell us about the great things (in detail) you do outside of work. Hobbies, interests, secret lives...
I'm a SUPERSTAR (does pose from the movie). I've been married to my beautiful wife (five years in August). Dog Mom to my two boys and one above. I play softball, I LOVE being outdoors, and I just love fun! Most importantly GO STEELERS!
What’s your favorite local spot and why (restaurant, bar, music venue, whatever you want to share about your hood!)?
River City West (softball complex). I've met some of the most amazing people here. It's where I found my love for softball again after college. It’s a place you can play softball, dance, sing, be with friends/family, make new memories. It's a whole vibe.
What song have you completely memorized? Will you sing it for us? What about playing it on an instrument? How about a little dance instead?
“I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. Game, set, match, I become Whitney and will take you along for the concert.
What is the most courageous thing you've ever done?
I got the help I needed to become a better version of Kayla. This path alone can be overwhelming, exciting, and a little scary. But the version of me I see growing has been my biggest accomplishment to date.
